Roughin' It, In A.. Cabin

This weekend we went "camping", in quotations because I don't consider it real camping when we stay in a cabin.. but it is pretty nice (especially compared to our last camping trip)!

Every year (since last year) we have gone up to Pine with a couple friends that Tommy works with and their families and stayed in one of their cabins. And we went again this year so I guess it's becoming like an annual thing.. But anyways, this cabin is close to a reservoir so of course we had to go fishing! So Tommy and I got up at 5am to leave Twin and make it to Pine in time to get good fishing in. Before we left, I made sure that we would be done fishing before it got too hot, and was assured that we would... So I wore under armor spandex under my pants and a long sleeve shirt under my hoodie and coat. I was suited to go fishing in the cold, which it was kind of cold that morning. So we go there and fished in the boat for awhile and it sure got hot faster than the weather said it would! So not to long into the trip I was stripping my hoodie and coat and spandex (it's ok, we were in the middle of no where-no one was watching ;) ), but I couldn't strip my long sleeve shirt because I didn't have anything else to wear in it's place so I pulled the sleeves up as far as I could. So now I have an awesome tan line just a bit above my elbow, because my shirt wouldn't roll any higher! Needless to say, we did Not leave when it got hot.. we were out there until about 3 or 4pm, and I was about dying of heat!! And on top of that, I wasn't catching Anything! I caught two fish that whole 8 hours!.. it was kind of not fun.

Tommy caught quite a few bass.. He's quite the bass fisher!

But we finally left and headed to the cabin, got showered and went to a little restaurant in the woods to eat lunch. When everyone else got up there we ate dinner and played in the garage which has a pool table and ping pong table. The next day, Tommy got up and went fishing early in the morning (Surprise!) and we made breakfast, German pancakes, bacon, fruit, and orange Julius, for everyone. Through out the day we went golfing, but not real golfing just driving (the balls)...



I'm used to hitting a baseball so it was hard to get the golfing position and swing down,, But I finally got it, sort of

...sitting in the natural hot springs by the river...

These are also from last year.. When I say natural hot springs, I really mean natural.. we were sitting on rocks and leaning against the grassy/muddy bank

Pretty dang CUTE!!

This is from last year when it was raining on our trail ride, this year we got lucky with not rain, but not so lucky with lots of dust!

 ...fishing, and chilled in the garage again (we do that a lot up there, and I got pretty good at ping pong and pool!).

We found Tommy's Drive! (his real name is Charley, hence the Charlie DR)

The worst thing that happened was when we went fishing again at the reservoir, I somehow accidently knocked one of Tommy's million fishing poles he had off the boat :/ I was able to grab it with my pole but the wind was blowing like crazy and pushing the boat farther and farther away from the pole and I was stretching as far as I could to keep it hooked on my pole but it became too much! And down the pole went.. :( I was kind of in trouble for awhile.. so that wasn't very fun either.. I just didn't have a good time fishing this go round!

It was a fun trip, like always, but we didn't have the most classic thing of camping.. a fire!! So I was pretty sad that we never had a fire, but we had our days filled with so much fun that there was no time for one!

Well that is our summer so far, and it's barely June! Bring on the rest of summer! :)
