All About That Nursing!

WooHoo!! I am practically done with nursing school!! I can not even believe it! I say practically because I am not technically done until Dec. 12th and not technically graduated until Dec. 19th, buuuut, I am done with classes and all the hard tests (expect for the N-CLEX)! Now I am just working at the hospital until Dec. 12th where we finish up the semester with a group test :) So I'm pretty stoked to have a break until the N-CLEX which I will probably take in January, because we are flying out Dec. 12th after my last test to Florida where we are going to Universal Studios in Orlando and then shipping out the next day on a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean!! (So yes I am missing my graduation :/ but a cruise with my whole family is way better!!) So when we get back and after Christmas, I'll start studying for boards! :O Crazy to think that in two months I will be a real nurse! (Scary!!!) So anyways.. nursing school is practically over! (until I get by bachelors :/ )
So this picture turned out a lot better than I thought it was going to, I fixed my hair all nice that morning and then go outside and its raining and windy! And my hair was a serious mess!! So I was a little scared to see the pictures when they came back, but not too bad ;)

So I thought I would share a few awesome things I got to do this semester at clinicals! I got to go the ER and that was pretty cool since that is where I've always wanted to work! The coolest things I got to see there were- a heart cardioversion (get shocked), and a stroke patient come in. (I feel bad saying these things were cool.. not cool for the patient at all, cool for me to see and experience!)

The next place I got to go was the Cath Lab (not where they put in urinary catheters ;), where they put in heart catheters if you have a heart attack or other heart problems), and there I got to see a STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction(Heart Attack)). This case was especially cool to see because I got to go out to the helicopter pad to wheel the patient in and if you didn't know, my main goal was (not sure if it still is) to become a flight nurse, so it was way awesome to go out to the helipad! And then I got to see the stent be put in the heart to "stop" the heart attack :) I also got to see two heart cardioversions again, except the doctor let me push the shock button!! (yikes!!)
In my awesome real nursing surgical scrubs in the Cath Lab!
And last but not least I went to the ICU where nothing exciting happened, but we were "planning" on coding a patient and I was prepared to do compressions!! :)

Last day in clinical!! Ever!! (Still gotta precept though, so kinda the same thing..)
So that's pretty much all the awesome things I got to do this semester! It was a pretty great clinical experience! But I am glad to be done!!
P.S. Sorry about the repetitive pictures that have probably already been seen on fb, intagram, snapchat exc.. and for all the bathroom selfies... documenting purposes ;)
